A perfect half-circle of golden sand between the sea and the Gialova lagoon, and the most photographed beach in Messinia.
Voidokilia Beach lies on the western side of Messinia, a few kilometres north of beautiful Pylos. It is undoubtedly one of the most stunning beaches in Greece, known for its perfectly circular shape, golden sand and turquoise waters.
A protected landscape
The beach sits inside a protected Natura 2000 zone. There are no organised facilities on it, and free camping is prohibited, which is part of why it has stayed as it is.
Above it stands Paleokastro, the fortified acropolis of ancient Pylos, and from up there the view takes in the beach, the Gialova lagoon, the island of Sphacteria and the Ionian Sea.
